Marisa Robertson

Marisa has always been interested in art. She could sing and was mad about colouring anything she could lay her hands on and would draw her own paper dolls and design their paper clothes: but she knew nothing about real Art, that is: painters, techniques and movements etc.

Marisa was born in Madrid, Spain. At an early age she was taken to the Caribbean where she spent many years (which might explain her love for colour, warm and happy colours). After a busy married life abroad and in England she started evening classes of leisure painting. This quickly took her to Bournemouth & Poole College of Further Education where she achieved an A level in Art under Jeremy Main. In that class, she met Norma Rawlings and through her PEDAS exhibitions followed, projects, Pro-Locos, more exhibitions, etc. She continued taking other courses with John Bowen and other local artists and soon she was invited to join Broadstone Art Society. The two groups with their excellent multifaceted approach, have kept her on her toes ever since.

Though she likes experimentation and varies the media accordingly, the bulk of her work consists mainly of Surrealistic acrylics, from set projects and delicate pastels of Poole and other places visited during her travels.
