Iris McCrow
Iris has lived in Dorset all her life having been born in Sandford and moved with her family to Wareham when she was 11. Growing up in this area gave her lots of opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, something she continues to do. Painting en plein air is her first love, something she began to do after she joined Broadstone Art Society.
Iris enjoyed art from an early age but didn't take A level art until after she had her children, she went on to do a short course in fine art at Shelley Park. Soon after that she joined Broadstone Art Society where she is an active member on the committee, a past chairperson and now organises the summer programme. Iris finds she is most inspired out in the landscape particularly along the coast. She uses all media and is keen to develop as an artist. Iris has an instinctive approach to her work and is always ready to try new things. She paints and exhibits with the other artists and in recent years as well as exhibiting with BAS and entering open art exhibitions she has exhibited regularly with four other artists; the Inside Out painters in Wimborne. Iris has recently had a garden studio built.
