Kathe Holt

Kathe’s interest in Art began about 25 years ago whilst living in Harrow Middlesex. She attended art classes for 2 years concentrating on drawing and painting, mainly watercolours.  She has always been interested in horticulture and gardening and it was natural for her to incorporate trees, plants and flowers in her paintings and creativity.

When she moved to Dorset about 20 years ago she was able to devote more time to art and after a while she was lucky to join the popular and much sought after Broadstone Art Society for friendship support and inspiration and the opportunity to exhibit and selling her work. She also joined Blandford Art Society and took part in exhibitions in Dorchester and Sherborne and more local events.

Kathe paints mainly with watercolours and mixed media and loves to “create” using texture and natural materials in her pieces. She has gained recognition through her style of work and has sold many paintings at our local exhibitions. She admires and is inspired by Ann Blockley, Shirley Trevena, Kurt Jackson and our wonderful Dorset landscape.

The last few years Kathe has been part of a small group “Inside Out Painters”. They exhibit every year in Wimborne selling their work and raising money for local charities.
